2009 Smallbiz Success Awards

February, 2009

These are certainly challenging times for businesses across the United States. But think of how much more difficult it is for small businesses — with limited resources, staff and overhead — to make ends meet, let alone thrive in these unstable financial conditions. That’s why Hawaii Business is especially proud this year to recognize the 10 recipients of the third annual Hawaii Business magazine 2009 SB Success Awards. These outstanding local companies are a reminder — and our proof — that success is possible, even in an economic downturn. Their secrets: innovation, passion and a commitment to delivering the best possible product or service.

Last November, members of our editorial team reviewed nearly four-dozen entries using four criteria: longevity; a unique service or product; rapid sales growth or rapid expansion; and finally, the ability to overcome challenges and make a comeback. We’d like to extend a huge mahalo to the nominators and congratulate our winners for inspiring us all. We appreciate the significant contributions your companies make to the health and strength of our state economy. We are honored to tell your stories:
