King Windward Nissan is going green. The dealership partnered with Sunetric to put energy-saving photovoltaic panels on its roof and the company’s brand-new vehicle is also Earth-friendly.

Introduced in 2011, the Nissan Leaf is the most significant vehicle of the century. The Leaf is the first affordable, mass-market, 100-percent electric vehicle offered by a major manufacturer. Nissan’s latest eco-friendly vehicle has no tailpipe – not a single drop of gasoline is needed. It also provides up to 100 miles of all-electric, zero-emissions driving.

They care about Hawaii’s environment just as much as they care for their customers. As their motto says, “at King Windward Nissan, we’re lifetime friends.”

With a combination of state tax incentives and the federal tax credit of $7,500, the price of the Leaf in Hawaii could be among the lowest nationwide. Nissan’s affordable “green” car can travel up to 90 miles per hour, is produced with recycled materials and comfortably fits up to five adult passengers. There’s no other electric vehicle like the Nissan Leaf.

 


“I wanted an electric car because of my commitment to reducing my carbon footprint and making the air cleaner. The new Leaf is currently the best solution since a clean, electric source is used to charge it.

Nissan cleverly created a flat Lithium Ion battery to ‘fuel’ the car. There is absolutely no compromise in performance, interior space or cargo room. The Leaf’s acceleration and handling are outstanding. The Leaf has a range of 100 miles on a charge. I can drive anywhere on the island and back without recharging it. If I need a charge, the Leaf finds a charging station through its GPS connection.

King Windward Nissan’s commitment to supporting the Leaf includes installing chargers and training mechanics in Leaf-specific maintenance. This demonstrates that Nissan’s support will always be there for me in the future. Our sales person, Marc Nakanishi, is also always forthcoming with the latest Leaf news. One thing’s for sure: I won’t be selling my Leaf to my friends. They’ll have to get theirs from King Windward Nissan.”
