Too Much Information. With the growth of social networking Web sites, TMI describes the act of releasing information online that can harm your career. For instance, talking stink about colleagues or showing off drunken photos. But TMI is most often used as a response to hearing something you didn’t want to know. Like when a co-worker tells you he doesn’t want to walk too far for lunch because his rash is acting up.
