More and more people in Hawaii are turning to large additions or plan to demolish and build new instead of purchasing a new home. But how do people get educated about this complex process and what should they watch out for? Homeowners will discover where to start, how to select a builder, what to watch out for, as well as what one needs to know about residential design, setting a budget, estimating, financing and scheduling. The seminar will provide valuable information on what families need for a successful multi-generation home construction project including designing for personal space, blended versus segregated living and pooling resources to help the bottom line. Homeowners will also learn ways to “green” your home and show how sustainable homes can help you live more comfortably while reducing household expenses. Topics include taming the energy beast, water management, and reduce noise, heat and other discomforts. Graham Builders has been presenting free educational seminars to the public for the past 18 years. Unlike other seminars, Graham Builders’ goal is to educate homeowners with helpful information on getting a home construction project started.
