What: Celebrate the Japanese culture in Hawaii with delicious foods, wonderful camaraderie and live entertainment at the Eighth Annual Taste of Marukai!
This fundraising event benefits the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii, the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce, the Honolulu Japanese Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Hawaii United Okinawa Association. When: Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Where: Marukai Wholesale Mart—Dillingham location 2310 Kamehameha Highway (next to the Tesoro station, across from GasPro) Parking at Puuhale Elementary School, with shuttle service throughout the night. Additional parking will be available at First Hawaiian Bank. Admission: Presale ticket price (before March 27): $85 Regular ticket price (after March 27): $95 Available online at www.marukaihawaii.com or at the door. Background: An annual tradition, the Taste of Marukai has grown into one of Marukai’s largest events with 1,000 attendees last year. Through this event, Marukai has donated $190,000 over the last seven years to support community organizations that preserve and extend the Japanese heritage in Hawaii.
