The Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce (HJCC), one of Honolulu's major business organizations representing a cross-section of the city's businesses, industries and professions, is recognizing its outstanding members at the ninth-annual Generational Awards Banquet at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at the Sheraton Waikiki.
The HJCC will honor S & M Sakamoto, Inc. as this year’s recipient of the Generational Award. This award honors locally owned or locally established companies with original family ownership and management spanning at least two generations. These companies have earned a reputation for sound corporate citizenship and are active supporters of the community. Rika Hirata, Vice President at First Hawaiian Bank, and Jon Tsukamoto, Second Vice President at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, will also be recognized as Outstanding Members of the Year for their efforts in advancing the HJCC’s mission and goals. HJCC’s fiscal year 2013-2014 Elected Board and Chairman of the HJCC, Gordon Kagawa, President and CEO of Occidental Underwriters of Hawaii, Ltd. will also be installed.
