Make Your Reservations for Fifth Annual The Good Table, Turning One Meal Into Many

One night. One meal. Thousands of lives.

Lanakila Pacific and Honorary Event Chair, Chef Alan Wong, are excited to announce that the public may purchase a one-of-a-kind table offering a memorable dining experience during The Good Table, a benefit for Lanakila Meals on Wheels, Hawaii’s largest and only islandwide meal provider to homebound kupuna starting August 30. Presented by Finance Factors, Hawaii Government Employees Association, Island Insurance Companies and Kai Hawaii, tables are available for purchase at or by calling 531-0555 through September 21. Participants who purchase tickets to The Good Table during the first two weeks of table sales, August 30 through September 15, will be entered to win a Maui vacation that includes three nights at the Sheraton Maui, dinner for two at Roy’s Restaurant, dinner for two at Black Rock Steak & Seafood, Ka‘anapali golf for two, and two tickets on Hawaiian Airlines.

“With one of the largest and fastest growing senior populations in the nation, we are seeing an ever increasing need for meals,” said Lyn Moku, director of Lanakila Meals on Wheels. “By supporting The Good Table, the public will help turn one great meal into many for our elderly neighbors in need. Providing so much more than a meal, our volunteers also deliver a friendly visit and a safety check, helping our kupuna to live at home independently for as long as possible.”

The Good Table is a unique, synchronized dining event scheduled for Thursday, October 3 at 6 p.m. at more than 50 of Oahu’s most popular dining establishments. Select restaurants, ranging from casual eateries to the island’s most recognizable fine-dining establishments, will serve a special menu for pre-purchased tables at their respective restaurants. Proceeds from the purchased tables directly support Lanakila Meals on Wheels to provide meals and support for Hawaii’s elderly in need.

This year, participating locations include Alan Wong’s Restaurants, 3660 on the Rise, Beach House at the Moana Surfrider, Brasserie duVin, Café Laufer, California Pizza Kitchen, Hank’s Haute Dogs, Hula Grill, Michel’s, Roy’s Restaurant, Tiki’s Grill & Bar, Tango Contemporary Café, Stage Restaurant, Side Street Inn, Prince Court, Nobu Waikiki, Le Bistro and Zippy’s (island-wide), among others.

“On October 3, participants of The Good Table will enjoy a very special meal at participating restaurants on Oahu,” said Honorary Chair Chef Alan Wong. “Funds raised through The Good Table will help ensure that Hawaii’s kupuna get the care and nutrition they need. With the public’s support, we are confident that we will be able to exceed our fundraising goal for 2013.”

In 2012, proceeds from pre-purchased tables, sponsorships and direct donations provided more than 20,000 meals to seniors in need. For this year’s patrons, the difference between the donation from the table purchase and retail value of meals is tax deductible to the full extent allowable by law.

To purchase a table, view a complete list of participating restaurants, or learn more visit or call 531-0555.
