The new Pathways to Profits classes are intermediate level courses for those business owners and senior managers who need practical knowledge that is beyond the basics. Our first class in the series is on market research. Finding reliable information for business decision making is one of the most important and challenging aspects of any planning process, whether you are starting a business or ex-panding an existing business. This 2-hour course will enable you to find the information you need to make the best decisions for your business by teaching you the basics of con-ducting market research. You will learn about the best free resources available, how to find trustworthy information on the Internet, and be introduced to market research con-cepts that will help you better understand your customers and your competition. Presenter: Christine Pawliuk is the Research Librarian for the Hawai‘i Small Business Development Center and conducts market research for entrepreneurs throughout the state. She has a Master's in Library and Information Science from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Christine was also previously the Business Librarian at Hawai‘i Pacific University, with responsibility for managing the University's business information collection. |
