Second Annual REACH Out Fundraiser

Second Annual REACH Out Fundraiser to be Held in June
A benefit to support after-school activities for middle/intermediate school students

 

WHO:  Kalapana, Brother Noland, Princess Ilona, Isle 5 and many more of Hawaii’s top musicians will come together for a benefit to help REACH Out Hawaii (a non-profit) provide after-school programs for middle and intermediate school students, which encourages them to stay engaged in school and keep them on the path to graduation.  There will be lots of ono food from Pagoda Restaurant, Hukilau Lounge, Murphy’s Bar and Grill, JJ Dolans, Poke Stop, MW Restaurant, Nalo Farms and more. 

 

WHEN: Saturday, June 28, 2014, from 5 to 9 p.m.

 

WHERE: Pagoda Floating Restaurant - 1525 Rycroft St, Honolulu, HI 96814

 

PARKING:  Free at HMSA Building, Pacific Guardian Tower, and Ross/Pagoda Parking Structure

ABOUT REACH OUT: 
REACH Out Hawaii is a nonprofit corporation under the laws of the State of Hawaii organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of the Internal Revenue Code.  It was established to support the REACH Initiative.   The Board of Directors are responsible for the oversight and strategic planning, including the development of a funding base for REACH Out Hawaii.  Board members include, Tom Apple, University of Hawaii-Manoa Chancellor, as president; and Duane Kurisu, aio owner, as vice president.

 

ABOUT THE R.E.A.C.H. INITIATIVE: 
R.E.A.C.H. (Resources for Enrichment, Academics, Culture and Health) provides an organizational framework for public middle and intermediate schools to offer expanded learning opportunities during after-school hours so students can stay on track toward high school graduation and be better prepared for future success.  Lt. Gov. Shan Tsutsui kicked-off R.E.A.C.H.’s pilot project at Mililani Middle School, where he announced the five schools that were selected to participate in the 2014 project.  Those schools are:  Mililani Middle, Hana High and Elementary, Kawananakoa Middle, Molokai Middle, and Waiakea Intermediate.
