The Omidyar K-1 Neighborhood is a state-of-the-art educational complex serving 300 children. The K-1 Neighborhood includes outdoor learning and play areas, a renovated former dormitory/classroom building and a creative learning center.
In 2011, this project received the LEED Platinum Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Captured rainwater is used for the children’s gardens, while photovoltaic panels help to sustain the K-1 Neighborhood’s energy needs.
