PV and the Real Meaning of Sustainability
If you think sustainability means getting off of fossil fuels and leaving a light footprint on the environment, you’re right.
But that’s not all it means.
When it comes to installing a photovoltaic system on your home or business, choosing the right installer and the right module manufacturer is crucial for true sustainability.
Bruce Ekimura, founder and owner of Alternate Energy, said the recent shakeout in the solar panel manufacturing industry reaffirms the wisdom of his company’s long-term alliance with Mitsubishi Electric. The global electronics leader and its premium solar modules are here to stay, backed by solid warranties, a well-diversified base and generations of research and development.
“Mitsubishi modules are here for the long haul,” Bruce said. “There’s a reason Mitsubishi has always been a highly valued and respected brand name in Hawaii—they’ve earned it.”
Alternate Energy is a Mitsubishi Elite Dealer, and last year achieved the international distinction of Mitsubishi Electric Certified Installer. The criteria are so stringent that Alternate Energy is the only PV company in the world outside of Japan with this high honor. The partnership includes regular installer trainings and ongoing education conducted by Mitsubishi engineers at Alternate Energy headquarters, ensuring that the high quality modules are always installed with the highest expertise.
The product has been so well-received in Hawaii that, Bruce warns, some less-reputable contractors are spreading rumors that Mitsubishi is planning to halt shipment to the U.S.—an absolute falsehood.
Perry Rosensweig, business development manager for Mitsubishi Electric USA, Inc.’s Photovoltaic Division, assured that “Mitsubishi Electric has been a leader in the solar industry for over 30 years. Our company will continue to facilitate the success of our customers by providing the most productive and reliable solar modules in the industry. Mitsubishi Electric is resolute in its commitment to our customers now and in the future.”
Bruce said, “Our customers tell me it feels good to know they are working with a longtime, established local company and proven manufacturers when they make this all-important investment for their home or business. We appreciate that. We’ll keep doing the right thing for our Hawaii residents by bringing in a product they can count on, installing it exceptionally well, and providing the finest customer service throughout the entire process.”
That’s true sustainability.
