Corporate Anniversaries 2013: NetEnterprise

In 1998, following a corporate restructuring process in the early 90’s, three colleagues found themselves with a wealth of collective IT expertise, but without jobs. The out-of-the-box thinkers opted for the road less traveled, each turning away from opportunities with established companies, and decided instead to create NetEnterprise.

The concept was clear, they would time-share their enterprise capability to small- and medium-sized businesses that needed a high level of experience but could not afford to keep the full time staff it required. NetEnterprise has watched this concept, as well as their business, experience tremendous growth over the past 15 years.

In 2000, just two years after opening, the company launched the state’s first commercial data center in downtown Honolulu, offering colocation, hosting and business class Internet services to businesses both in Hawaii and worldwide.

“When we started, the Internet was just taking off and routers and firewalls were being cobbled together from various software on makeshift machines,” says Jason Toth, one of the founders and Chairman of NetEnterprise. “Today, we see the evolution to ubiquitous computing, accessible to everyone via mobile computing platforms as small as a smartphone.”

NetEnterprise has managed to stay well ahead of the changes in the IT industry by adapting and expanding its services. Acquisitions over the years have allowed the company to create a one-stop-shop for all IT needs, including engineering consulting, contracting and colocation solutions, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.  In addition, the company’s partnerships with local, national and international firms provide leading edge technologies for the best possible customer service.

This foresight and the company’s customer-focused approach to business has established NetEnterprise as a leader in providing computer network integration and Internet connectivity solutions.

Heading into the next 15 years, Toth sees the company continuing to thrive by holding steadfastly to two core values: constantly raising the bar on the company’s expertise while maintaining the level of service that customers have come to know and expect.
