2012 Hawaii’s Better Business Bureau Torch Awards
Trust • Performance • Integrity

Honoring Island Businesses and Charities that exemplify the Better Business Bureau’s high ethical standards.

Aloha kakou,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you, the people and businesses of Hawaii, for your trust and support in Hawaii’s Better Business Bureau.  Our Torch Awards program allows us to honor you — the island businesses, charities and individuals who not only exemplify the BBB’s high ethical standards, but who also seek to serve the people and communities of our island home with authenticity, humility, integrity and aloha.

We thank you, and we celebrate all those who were nominated for this year’s Torch Awards. Congratulations to each and every one of you!

Our excellent panel of judges, comprised of last years Torch Award recipients, embrace the importance of building and maintaining trust.  We would like to extend a wholehearted mahalo to Vanessa Stewart, Ed Justice, Thomas Lee and Michael Orozco.

2012 has been a year of growth and change and through the generosity of our sponsors and partners, our Torch Awards program expanded to include vendor booths, speakers and a social-media seminar.

Our sincerest gratitude and appreciation to Servco Foundation, Hawaii Human Resources (HIHR), ING Direct, Lex Brodie’s Tire Company, Atlas Insurance Agency, American Savings Bank, Bank of Hawaii, Outrigger Enterprises Group, Farmer’s Insurance Hawaii, Hawaii Business Magazine and to our host of this year’s event, the Sheraton Waikiki.  Thank you for your generous support of the Torch Awards.  We would especially like to thank Hawaii News Now for helping increase public awareness of the BBB’s mission to foster marketplace trust.

We close this year’s Torch Awards with a heartfelt thank you for all the community support and participation in striving to raise the level of business excellence!

A warm mahalo nui loa,

Dwight Kealoha,           Nancy Daniels, Chair BBB            Chuck Hill, Chair BBB Foundation
