Maui Divers of Hawaii has done business in Hawaii for 55 years, founded in 1958 in Lahaina, Maui as a dive shop filling scuba tanks, selling equipment and providing tours.

In 1959, a diving expedition in the deep waters off the Molokai Channel led Maui Divers to the discovery of Hawaiian black coral, one of the ocean’s finest treasures and now considered to be the most lustrous coral in the world. Maui Divers Jewelry was founded in 1959 when the company began designing, manufacturing and selling Hawaiian black coral jewelry.

In 1962, the company expanded operations and relocated to Honolulu. Over the decades since, Maui Divers Jewelry has grown to become the largest manufacturer of precious coral jewelry in the world, as well as the largest jewelry manufacturer in the state of Hawaii.

In addition to Hawaiian black coral, Maui Divers Jewelry features rare Hawaiian gold coral and exotic deep-water pink and red corals. The company also showcases unique, handcrafted collections that feature cultured Tahitian black pearls, South Sea pearls, Japanese Akoya pearls, freshwater pearls, Australian opals, diamonds, peridot and other beautiful gemstones.

All of Maui Divers’ exclusive jewelry is handcrafted, from design sketch to final stone setting, in the company’s Jewelry Design Center in Honolulu. The facility conducts daily tours of the jewelry manufacturing operations where millions of visitors from around the world have seen the behind-the-scenes of the making of fine jewelry with an island flair.

“Our employees are our most valuable asset and being recognized as one of Hawaii’s Best Places to Work for seven years in a row is a big achievement for us.” says President and CEO Mary Beth Brenner.
