Meadow Gold Dairies

If you were raised here in Hawai‘i, it is likely you have fond memories of Meadow Gold Dairies – whether it’s visiting the beloved cow, Lani Moo, on the farm on the North Shore or chugging that ice cold milk that came on your school lunch tray. Meadow Gold has been making and delivering delicious dairy, juice and ice cream products – as well as “good kine” memories – to the people of Hawai‘i for over 113 years.

Meadow Gold operates throughout the Islands with two manufacturing facilities processing milk, manufacturing products such as yogurt, sour cream, and cottage cheese, and beverages like island favorite POG®. According to Glenn Muranaka, President and General Manager of Meadow Gold, Meadow Gold has been guided by a simple philosophy throughout the years.

“Our successes ow from a work place that fosters integrity, honesty, caring, outstanding quality, continuous improvement and maximum efficiency in each functional area of our business,” Muranaka says. “ is is partnered with a commitment to the people and communities that we serve in the areas of nutrition, education and preservation of our island environment. Dedicated to this philosophy, Meadow Gold provides its 325 employees with opportunities for development, recognizing that they are our number one asset. All stakeholders will benefit from our commitment to excel beyond what we are today.”

It is evident that many do benefit from Meadow Gold being in this community. When asked, “What is new with Meadow Gold?” employees excitedly speak of the myriad of community initiatives the company is involved in. Meadow Gold actively partners with organizations such as the Children’s Discovery Center, the Honolulu Zoological Society, the American Red Cross-Hawai‘i Chapter, and, perhaps the longest and most known partnership, the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Hawai‘i.

Meadow Gold also sponsors signature events such as the Healthy Baby Contest, the Milk Carton Regatta and the Kids Triathlon. More recently, it has been active in developing educational programs that stimulate young minds. Lani Moo Books, their newest educational project, promotes literacy by encouraging students to write and illustrate their very own books. rough these endeavors, Meadow Gold shares a tradition of philanthropic giving to its communities.

Meadow Gold will continue to fuel bodies with nutritious and delicious products while also touching hearts with the spirit of giving that they hope will be passed forward.
