Avis Rent a Car

Got business inter-island and borrowing Auntie’s car is out of the question? Local business travelers to another island may want to consider going straight to Avis to rent cars from its convenient airport locations. Avis, established 65 years ago, has Hawaii car rental locations at six island airports: Hilo, Honolulu, Kahului, Kona-Keahole, Lihue, and Princeville (Hanalei). Avis cars are also available at four additional hotel/resort locations on Maui and one on Kauai. The Hawaii locations are part of the 2,200 locations worldwide for the company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Avis Budget Group, which also owns Budget Rent a Car.

With 60 percent of its business mix in business car rentals, Avis offers business travelers special service offerings, including Avis Preferred and Avis First, its customer loyalty programs, which gives members counter-bypass service and rewards, including free rental days and car upgrades. Designed specifically for small- and mid-size businesses, Avis Corporate Rewards program offers low corporate rates, complimentary rental days and free enrollment in Avis Preferred service. Large companies are also covered through Avis Corporate Sales, which offers large and mid-sized business managers negotiated rates, frequent use benefits and optional coverage. Groups, organizations and associations may also qualify to get special pricing on inter-island meetings using five or more cars through Avis Group Sales.

Company employees being relocated or on temporary assignments to another island have a way to get around through Avis MiniLease program, which provides 60-day to 11-month vehicle rentals.
