Budget Rent a Car

Established in 1958 as the car rental company for the “budget-minded” renter, Budget may be the transportation choice for Hawaii inter-island business travelers operating on tight budgets. Budget continues to be the industry leader worldwide for the value-driven business traveler with approximately 2,700 locations in more than 120 countries.

In Hawaii, Budget operates rental car services at six airports: Hilo, Honolulu, Kahului, Kona, Lihue and West Maui (Kaanapali). In addition, island business travelers can also rent a Budget car at the Hyatt Regency in Honolulu, the Grand Wailea Hotel on Maui, and the Big Island’s Mauna Lani Bay Hotel.

In 2003, Budget inaugurated its “Budget Business Program,” a free corporate discount program with no minimum spending requirement for small- and mid-sized U.S.-based companies. It offers low corporate rates, complimentary Fastbreak service (Budget’s paperless-transaction express service), and no additional driver fees. The Fastbreak program is all about convenience for business travelers who can enroll locally by calling 840-5525 on O’ahu. Once enrolled, members can earn a free one-day rental coupon after every 5 rental days. Members also receive 4 hours of additional time included with their Hawai’i rentals. With so many benefits included in the free Fastbreak program - it’s no wonder so many kamaaina business travelers are signing up!
