The Authentic Taste of Japanese Noodles in Hawai`i and Worldwide
The noodle culture has become an integral part of Hawai`i’s culinary landscape, bringing together family and friends across the islands. At Sun Noodle, we don’t look at noodles as just something you eat; we look at noodles as a way to communicate. Since we started 30 years ago, noodles have been the language for us to connect to the people of Hawai`i. We wanted to bring a smile to everyone with each slurp of noodle. We wanted to build a long-lasting relationship with the community just like our long noodles.
In 1981, Sun Noodle started as a one man operation. Since then, we have moved our factory to our current location on Colburn Street, opened a plant in Los Angeles to meet our customers’ growing appetite on the west coast, Canada and Central America, and now in the process of opening our third plant in New Jersey to share our passion with the people on the east coast. As our core business is to manufacture premium quality noodles, we are always innovating and expanding our product lines, reviewing and improving our services, and continually striving to become the industry’s best.
Along with fresh noodles, we’ve expanded into manufacturing cooked and dried noodles such as pasta, soba, and udon to name a few. We also offer soup bases and other associated items for our food service customers. In 2011, we started the Ramen Lab, which functions as our collaborative R&D center with customers, offering ramen tutorial classes, consultation services and guidance in producing new ramen shops throughout the country.
All this would not be possible without our most treasured asset: our employees, who we call the noodle artisans. We are very fortunate to have a diverse and talented group of noodle artisans and they truly are the core of our success. They work together to create only the finest products we’d be proud to put our name on.
Moreover, we could not be more grateful for all the support we have received and we’re very pleased to be celebrating our 30th year in business with our customers, vendors, business partners and families who have supported us over the years.
