>> Photographer Sergio Goes free dove 50 feet to capture this serene portrait of the opening ceremony of the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational. Surfers formed a hand-linked circle to kick off the event, which takes place only if waves reach a consistent 20 feet, on the "Hawaiian Scale," in December, January or February each year.
