Weston also gives annual Service Awards, Pay-for-Performance, Project Center Incentive Plans, and Spot Bonuses.
Best Practices #1:WESTON encourages professional development by inviting potential leaders to participate in Westons uniquely developed, Vanguard Leadership Development Program. The Vanguard leadership process enables high-performing and high-potential leaders to capitalize on their unique strengths. Participants have the opportunity to use what they learn to continually grow in our organization and lead WESTON into the future. WESTON launched its Vanguard program in January 2005, with a tight-knit group of 10 individuals taking part in the leadership development process. The Vanguard leadership process continues today with Vanguard Group V and consists of foundation teleconferences, 360-degree leadership competency feedback, strengths assessments, and an off-site launch session providing development and training experiences. Coaching sessions include strengths coaching and leadership coaching by senior management. Participants also receive classroom training and a leadership discussion with WESTONs CEO and President Pat McCann focusing on the individuals leadership growth and how they will apply it to WESTON. The Vanguard leadership program concludes with matriculation into the WESTON Leadership Network, marking each persons commitment to leadership at WESTON.
Best Practices 2:At Weston Solutions, recognition is one of our greatest motivators. Our formal recognition initiative is called the Accelerator Award Program, which encourages all Weston employees, no matter their title, to recognize each other for a job well done by nominating coworkers for the monthly Accelerator Award. In addition to the departmental monthly award (with a prize of $100 gift certificate), all nominations are entered into biweekly, quarterly, and annual company-wide drawings. Biweekly winners are featured on our intranet, and winners receive their choice of a $150 gift card or a Dell laser printer. Quarterly winners receive $500, a note from senior management, and a feature on our intranet. Annual winners receive a plasma television and recognition from senior management at the annual All-Employee Conference Call, as well as a feature on our intranet. In the past 2 years, 2,131 employees have been nominated by their coworkers for an Accelerator Award. In addition, Weston gives annual Service Awards, Pay-for-Performance, Project Center Incentive Plans, and Spot Bonuses.
Differentiating Practice:Weston Solutions workplace is itself a benefit, especially in Hawaii. We are a very employee oriented company that strives daily to maintain our employee is our greatest asset philosophy. And the root of our ability to maintain this philosophy was embedded initially in the fact that Weston was at first a family owned company, and even now through 100% employee ownership we have a family or as we say in Hawaii, an Ohana feel to all we do!
