Accomplishments:Garval is proudest of the collaborations/partnerships he helped build in Hartford including: The Violence Intervention Project; The Hartford Youth Network; The Partnership, a collaboration between the United Way of the Capital Area, the Hartford Public Schools, the Hartford Federation of Teachers, Girls and Boys Town of Omaha, Nebraska, and the Village; The Partnership was focused on helping teachers manage their classrooms so students spent more time on task and providing parent education to teach children behaviors that will help them be successful in school and in relationships
