Dorsey Brady

General Manager, Outrigger Wailea Resort

There’s a good reason Dorsey Brady turns his back to the window. The view from his executive office at the Outrigger Wailea Resort is truly magnificent. Not only does he see 22 acres of landscaped grounds, he also has an expansive view of the Molokini and Kahoolawe islands, surrounded by the deep-blue Pacific Ocean. “That’s why I keep my back to the window, so I can get some work done,” he jokes. “Otherwise, I’d be gazing out of the window all day.”

Brady is a busy executive – more so, since his Outrigger property purchased the Marriott franchise earlier this year. His desk reflects his working style. It is a command central, organized and clutter-free, with nothing but a telephone, computer and important documents.

The rest of his office, however, is as personal and homey as one could get. Brady’s office truly radiates the spirit of hospitality. Each memento, each decoration, evokes wonderful memories of nearly four decades in the hotel business: a large koa paddle given to him when he was awarded the 2000 Chairman Award from Outrigger Hotels and Resorts; frames and plaques from his staff at the Outrigger Guam Resort; photos of celebrities, including the former director of the FBI, Louis Freeh.

His most cherished photos, of course, are his family photos, featuring his own “Brady Bunch.”
