“Assisted living… it’s what we do!” The tagline is emblazoned throughout The Plaza Assisted Living’s advertising and promotional materials.

To Tricia Medeiros, the phrase means much more. “It represents a commitment to provide an affordable, high-quality senior care option for all of Hawaii’s kūpuna who can no longer live alone, but aren’t ready for a nursing home.”

As Regional Director of The Plaza Assisted Living, Medeiros oversees operations of all The Plaza communities throughout Oahu. From the beginning, she has seen how this commitment to Hawaii’s seniors has touched the lives of so many families – the very families that inspired

The Plaza’s creation. When asked about The Plaza’s beginnings, Medeiros reflects with a smile. “The Plaza’s story began with a local businessman who struggled to find a place to live for his aging parent. Faced with limited options, it became his mission to build a quality community for families facing similar situations throughout Hawaii.  His determination to overcome this challenge was the foundation for The Plaza Assisted Living.”

Today, The Plaza is proud to provide top-quality rental apartment living options for Oahu’s seniors, offering residents a variety of comprehensive care services, including Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. “Since our beginning, it has been The Plaza’s mission to anticipate and meet the needs of Hawaii’s seniors with the highest levels of expertise, compassion, and quality care - providing a comfortable, caring and dignified living environment, in which Hawaii’s kūpuna can enjoy their retirement years”, Medeiros says.

The Plaza currently serves Hawaii’s seniors from three state-of-the-art senior assisted-living properties throughout Oahu, including The Plaza at Punchbowl, The Plaza at Mililani and The Plaza at Moanalua. With a new Pearl City property slated to open in 2014 and several more senior assisted living properties expected over the next few years, Medeiros looks forward to The Plaza’s continued expansion, which would enable them to provide assistance to more of Hawaii’s seniors. “It’s an exciting time”, Medeiros says. “As Hawaii’s senior population continues to grow, so will the need for adequate senior care. The Plaza is proud to remain committed to providing assisted living solutions to Hawaii’s kūpuna and their loved ones,” Medeiros says. “It’s what we do.”
