 trong>73rd Annual Orchid Flower and Plant Show</strong> &mdash\; on Octobe
 r 5-7\, 2012\, at the Washington Middle School Cafeteria.</p>\n<p>\n	&nbsp
 \;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; N
 ew to this year&rsquo\;s show will be collections of rare jewels orchid sp
 ecies\, some of which are often endangered in their native habitat\, and b
 ulbophyllums\, with blooms that astonish (and sometimes awfully scented).<
 /p>\n<p>\n	The best blooms from six orchid societies will be competing for
  trophies\, and flowering plants and seedlings.&nbsp\; Both easy-to-care-f
 or orchid hybrids and species will also be available for sale by orchid ve
 ndors from Oahu and the outer islands.</p>\n<p>\n	&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nb
 sp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Expert growers will 
 lead demonstrations of their best practices for coaxing the best flowers f
 rom cattleyas\, dendrobiums (yes\, also focusing on the sweet-scented isla
 nd favorite honohono)\, phalaenopsis\, and other orchids.&nbsp\; A &ldquo\
 ;plant doctor&rdquo\; will attend to your problem plant\; but if you suspe
 ct disease\, please bring the poor thing in a sealed plastic bag.&nbsp\; T
 ools and supplies for keeping your plants healthy and happy will also be a
 vailable.</p>\n<p>\n	<strong>Our 2012 show is open to the public\, free of
