HONOLULU Fashion Week Announces Event Schedule

HONOLULU, HAWAII—HONOLULU Fashion Week presented by Hawaiian Airlines (#HonoluluFW) is a four day event, beginning on Nov. 19 and culminating Nov. 20-22, 2015 at the Hawaii Convention Center. Seating for all fashion shows will be available on a first-come, first-served basis unless otherwise noted. Those who wish to guarantee a seat may purchase a limited number of reserved tickets by visiting www.honolulumagazine.eventbrite.com. The schedule is subject to change. In addition to the strong lineup of designers, several fashion industry celebrities will be attending and participating in the event including The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute curator-in-charge Harold Koda, New York Fashion Week creator Fern Mallis, Hawaii-born and internationally known model Keke Lindgard, Japanese-American model Jun Hasegawa, Argentine-Japanese fashion model Jessica Michibata, and reigning Miss Hawaii USA, model and fashion blogger Emma Wo.

Harajuku: Tokyo Street Fashion presented by Hawaiian Airlines is a fun and whimsical look at Harajuku’s alternative modes of dress, lifestyles and blends of cultures—and their global impact on the fashion world.

 

Collections of Waikiki Presents: Honolulu’s Best Stylist Challenge

The Royal Hawaiian, A Luxury Collection Resort (2259 Kalakaua Ave.)

Free and open to the public

 

A panel of local celebrity judges will select one winner from three competing stylists. The competition will feature three looks; swim, casual wear, and evening resort wear. Looks will be styled with the Collections of Waikiki retailers, featuring the latest styles in Waikiki.

The HONOLULU Fashion Week Marketplace will feature designs from more than 50 local designers, beauty bars and sponsor booths. Designers will include: Allison Izu, Andy South, Blue Bird Jewelry Hawaii, Chai Studio, Ecolicious, Jewelry by Justine, Kahulalea, Kealopiko, KI•ELE, Kini Zamora, Matt Bruening/Salt Liko, Matsumoto Studio, Misha Hawaii, Noa Noa, Olena Kai Swimwear, Peace of Paradise, Reyn Spooner, Salato Designs, Samudra, Seafoam Green, Sig Zane, Ten Tomorrow, Vanessa Pack and YIREH.

Live Aloha will spotlight the diverse range and talent of Hawaii-based designers. The lineup of more than 25 Hawaii designers will include glamorous and sophisticated day wear, swimwear and evening wear. Designers include: Ari South, Bliss Lau, Florencia Arias, Language of the Birds, Malia Jones, Matt Bruening, Roberta Oaks, Reyn Spooner, and Sig Zane to name a few.  

 

Runway show: Kini Zamora

$35 reserved seating; proceeds will benefit Reach the Runway

 

Project Runway standout Kini Zamora shows off his attention to detail, quality, and signature style of structural yet flowing pieces in his exclusive Spring/Summer 2016 Collection. Sure to inspire, the pieces emanate “Hawaii Couture,” taking island fashion to another level. The show will benefit Reach the Runway, a program that creates mentorship opportunities for Oahu middle school students interested in pursuing a career in the fashion industry. It is a community outreach program of HONOLULU Fashion Week and a private/public partnership with the Lt. Governor Shan Tsutsui’s R.E.A.C.H. Initiative.

 Manuhealii owner and designer Danene Lunn made a name in the islands with her stylish ready-to-wear collections that capture the essence of living an aloha lifestyle. This family business is celebrating 30 years of fashion and inspiration in Hawaii.  

 

Runway show: Get Out!

Hawaii’s youthful energy shines in Get Out!, a playful show of surf- and streetwear. Runway looks from more than 20 Hawaii designers feature tropical hues, bursts of color, graphic prints and mix-matched styles. Designers include: Cameron Hawaii, In4mation, Moon Collective, Quality Peoples, Salvage Public, Tiare, and Vanessa Paresa.

 

Runway show: Hawaiian Airlines presents Runway to Runway

8 p.m.

International celebrity designers will showcase capsule collections in Runway to Runway, a show inspired by the fashionable destinations serviced by presenting sponsor Hawaiian Airlines. Top names include Todd Snyder from New York, ELLERY from Sydney, LIE SANGBONG from Seoul, AULA from Tokyo and Hawaii’s own Kaypee Soh.

Hawaii Convention Center (1801 Kalakaua Ave.)

 

Wilhelmina International’s Roman Young and Wilhelmina Models, NYC’s Bobby Gutierrez will hold an island-wide model search. Young and Gutierrez are both originally from Hawaii and have more than 35 years of combined experience in the industry. Fashion show director Lynne Hanzawa O’Neill will also provide feedback to all models and offer a workshop on walking the runway.  

 

Runway show: Hawai‘i Pacific Health—Beautiful Survivors  

2 p.m

Hawaii Convention Center (1801 Kalakaua Ave.)            

Cancer survivors of various ages will step onto the runway in Beautiful Survivors. This collaborative fashion show brings together Hawaii Pacific Health and Hawai‘i-based designers.
