Na Hoku

April, 2015

For Hawaiian and Island Lifestyle jewelry, no jeweler is as prolific or top-of-mind as Na Hoku. With more than 60 locations throughout Hawaii and the Mainland, the jeweler makes its mark with finely crafted tropical treasures. Their jewelry brings the beautiful Spirit of Aloha to anyone  who owns one of their memorable pieces.

Na Hoku is ranked as the 11th largest fine jewelry retailer in the United States, the 80th largest company in Hawaii, and is the oldest and largest jewelry manufacturer in the islands. Grounded in tradition, and crafting fine jewelry since the 1920s, the classic artistry combines beautifully with modern tastes. Specializing in playful yet timeless renditions of the symbols that fondly remind us of the state we love—slippahs, honu, waves, and plumeria frequent the collections.

In order for Na Hoku to help it carry out its mission, it employs a team of 531 to operate its storefronts and headquarters.  Formerly known as The Sultan Company, Na Hoku—which means stars in Hawaiian—opened its first Na Hoku-branded store in Philadelphia, in 2000, and officially changed its corporate name to Na Hoku in 2006. The company continues to expand its reach and reputation for exquisite fine jewelry.

“Here at Na Hoku, we live by the motto that improvement is not merely an opportunity but a necessity,” says Steve Bookatz, Executive Vice President, COO.  A hallmark of the company’s success is its competent and professional sales force. Opportunities for advancement, including those outside of Hawaii, enable Na Hoku to align goal-driven employees with desirable locations and the right training to foster long-term careers.

“We truly run our organization like a high-functioning team. That means that we have a high standard and a certain pace that defines us, but those who are results oriented will thrive and have a true opportunity to grow a rewarding career here.  We look for talented, hard-working people who carry the spirit of aloha into their work and have an internal drive to constantly produce the best results possible while striving to surpass our own records,” says Teri Montano, Director of HR.

If their growth is any indication, Na Hoku will be a very productive part of Hawaii at least another 90+ years.
