PacRim Marketing Group was started 25 years ago to help bridge cultural gaps and gain market entry for brands and organizations  in Hawaii and North America seeking to do business in Japan, China, Korea, and other Pacific Rim regions. The international marketing communications firm started its online affiliate, PRTech, LLC., in 2004, and PacRim Marketing Tokyo, KK (Asia-Pacific headquarters) in 2006.

Today, PacRim’s and PRTech’s 45 plus marketing professionals throughout Asia-Pacific leverage each other’s skills and assets to help clients and partners in Hawaii and North America increase the Asian International Traveler portion of their customer bases.

To educate each other about cultures and make employees feel welcome, PacRim and PRTech celebrate diversity.  For Lunar New Year, they decorate the office, invite lion dancers, and feast on Chinese food.  They present information about top trends in Asia and share ethnic food and customs at team meetings.

To further support the creative process and encourage innovation and teamwork, PacRim Marketing Group and PRTech moved their U.S. headquarters to Ala Moana Pacific Center—Suite 888—in 2013.  The new space—closer to clients and partners in Waikiki, the Ala Moana Corridor, Downtown Honolulu, and the growing Kakaako area—also fits with PacRim and PRTech’s corporate growth plans and provides spaces for collaboration amongst team members, clients, and partners.

Being part of a growing company has its advantages.  “We are able to invest more in training and career advancement and will continue to mentor future leaders in marketing, travel, and retail industries,” said Erwin.  “This year, we will expand our kitchen and dining facilities to accommodate more team members and to encourage bonding and sharing ideas.”
