Jason Van Tassell, livestock manager and cowboy at Parker Ranch, reshoes one of the 125 horses at the 250,000-acre estate. On average, each cowboy at the ranch cares for eight to ten horses – doing everything from feeding to riding them. Van Tassell shoes horses every four to six weeks, which includes filing, cutting and shaping their hooves.
