The postal workers will need it this month. In 2010, Hawaii post offices processed 97 percent more parcels during the holidays than the rest of the year combined, and parcel volume increases annually. This year, the post office recommends sending parcels by first class or priority mail before Dec. 19 to get it to the mainland by Christmas.
