How will our next Mayor shape the future of our recovery and the construction Industry in Hawaii? What can we expect at the national level?

BIA-Hawaii remains committed to its tradition of acting as a conduit in the advancement of policy making for the community. Now, more than ever, the BIA is asking members to collectively use their voice and resources to advance policies in housing, energy, and business development. Kai Kahele, Democratic Nominee for Congressional District Number 2, and Honolulu’s mayoral candidates, Rick Blangiardi and Keith Amemiya will participate in a panel discussion with members and non-members to examine the issues that we all face as we seek to build a better future in Hawaii. BIA-Hawaii members participate in a Build-PAC Event

This event will provide an intimate opportunity to ask questions of the candidates directly. More than at any other time in our recent history, real leadership is necessary to move our community and industry forward. “We encourage all of our members and anyone who works in the industry to attend this event. It’s only $10 for non-members and free for members and you won’t have another chance to ask your questions like this,” said Hinano Nahinu, Chair of the BIA-Hawaii Membership Committee.

For 65 years, the BIA has worked to provide support for the construction industry and their members build the living spaces that we call home. From developers and builders to specialty contractors and suppliers, members are the BIA. Education, marketing, networking, and advocacy are some of the traditional benefits of being a BIA member, but a recent alliance with HMAA also affords BIA members with more affordable medical options. In addition, members offer one another discounts on services and can access national resources through the BIA’s relationship with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) In October, members can earn a free, primary membership during the BIA Membership Drive.
