Locations, Hawaii’s leading independent real estate firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of John Chandler, vice president of technology, to senior vice president of technology and innovation.
In his new role as senior vice president of technology and innovation, Chandler is responsible for the real estate firm’s day-to-day technology operations, including its mobile app, website and agent business tools, as well as looking for innovative technology solutions for the firm and its more than 300 agents.
“In just three years, John has demonstrated his vast technological knowledge and exceptional leadership skills,” said Locations Interim CEO Bill Chee.
“For 50 years, Locations has been at the forefront of real estate technology—from the first firm to computerize MLS listings, to the first to develop a real estate search app built specifically for the Hawaii market. John’s continued leadership of our technology department ensures that Locations will remain an industry leader in technology solutions for both our clients and our agents, here in Hawaii and beyond,” Chee added.
Chandler was named vice president of technology in 2017, after joining the firm as director of technology in 2016. Among his many accomplishments in these roles were leading the redesign and development of LocationsHawaii.com, which averages more than 60,000 monthly visitors, and development of the Locations Home Valuator, a web-based home valuation program that provides home value estimates that are more accurate than national competitors.
Prior to joining Locations, he served as director of global technology & operations for Silicon Valley-based Pacific Rim Markets.
Chandler earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and an MBA from Chaminade University, and he is a 2018 graduate of the Pacific Century Fellows, a program that identifies, encourages and develops leaders in Hawaii.
Active in the community, Chandler is a board member for the Hawaii chapter of the Youth Basketball Organization of America and a volunteer basketball coach.
