Janina Abiles, Manager of Client HR Trainings, ProService Hawaii
Janina Abiles is Manager of Client HR Trainings and Products at ProService Hawaii. She relocated to Honolulu in April 2018. Prior to joining ProService Hawaii, she worked for Wyndham Vacation Ownership and The Body Shop in learning and talent management roles, with a focus on leadership development.
Peter Hirano, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Servco Pacific Inc.
Peter Hirano is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Servco Pacific Inc. In his role, Peter oversees the company’s Human Resources function for all of Servco’s businesses with a primary focus on increasing human capital support needed in the ever-changing business and workforce environment. Prior to joining Servco, Peter worked in the Human Resources services industry for 30 years on the mainland. His prior experience included various senior leadership roles at organizations such as Hewitt Associates (now Aon), KPMG Consulting, Accenture and Randstad SourceRight.
Debbie Padello, Director of Operations, Altres
Debbie Padello is the director of operations for simplicityHR by ALTRES, overseeing human resource services for over 2,200 clients and 15,000 employees statewide. She has more than 20 years of management experience in human resources and hospitality. Padello is a member of Make-A-Wish Hawaii’s Young Leaders Board, the secretary of the Waolani Judd Nazarene School parent board, and an advisory board member of the Master of Human Resource Management program at Shidler Business School at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Melissa Pavlicek, President, SHRM Hawaii
Melissa Pavlicek is the president and co-founder of Hawaii Public Policy Advocates, LLC, a government relations and association management firm in Honolulu. She currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Catholic Charities of Hawaii and the Hawaiian Humane Society. Ms. Pavlicek is a graduate of the University of Hawaii Wm. S. Richardson School of Law and is a past president of Hawaii Women Lawyers.
Moderator: Ben Ancheta, President, Inkinen & Associates
Ben is the president of Inkinen & Associates. Since returning home to Hawaii, Ben has held executive roles at ProService Hawaii, the state’s largest outsource HR services provider, ike, and Ekahi Health System. A graduate of Kamehameha Schools – Kapalama, Ben received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Carleton College and an MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA.
