Nominations for 20 for the Next 20
Help us identify and honor Hawaiʻi’s emerging leaders

Every year, Hawaii Business identifies 20 people whose talents, accomplishments and potential set them apart as emerging leaders of Hawaiʻi over the next two decades. We call them 20 for the Next 20 – the HB20 – and profile them in the March issue and online at hawaiibusiness.com.
The deadline to nominate someone for the 2027 cohort is Nov. 20. You can nominate someone here.
Past honorees have been described as energetic, innovative, entrepreneurial, talented, intelligent and charismatic leaders of today and tomorrow.
These people to watch may come from any field: business, public service, law, entrepreneurship, education or elsewhere. However, elected politicians or people running for elective office will not be considered. Each nominee must be younger than 50 on March 1, 2027.
We’d love to hear which people you think are worth considering. And feel free to share this invitation with others who might want to offer nominations.
Tell us some things that will help us:
- Facts about the nominee, including name and key roles at work and in the community, plus their email and phone number
- Their accomplishments on the job and elsewhere, and what makes them special
- Why you think they are destined for even greater things in Hawai‘i
- Your name, contact information and association with the nominee
The deadline for nominations is Nov. 20, 2026. We will contact the finalists. Since we get hundreds of nominations, we will not contact unsuccessful nominees.
