That spirit is at the heart of Stronger Hawaiʻi, an initiative of Hawaiʻi Community Foundation designed to support disaster preparedness, response, recovery and resilience across the islands.
Created as a long-term resource for the state, Stronger Hawaiʻi helps connect communities to trusted information and support while strengthening the network of nonprofit organizations and in-community partners doing critical work on the ground.
“The Maui wildfires gave us an opportunity to understand the exponential impact we can have when government, businesses, nonprofit organizations and community members work together to respond to disasters,” said Terry George, CEO & President of HCF. “Stronger Hawaiʻi builds on that understanding and reflects our commitment to helping not only respond in difficult moments but prepare for the future with greater resilience.”
Through the Stronger Hawaiʻi Fund, Hawaiʻi Community Foundation supports coordinated efforts that help communities across the state navigate immediate challenges while strengthening the foundation for long-term recovery and preparedness.
