EdFuture Summit 2026: Preparing Hawai’i to Lead with AI

AI is reshaping how we teach, how we work, and how our communities function. People navigating that change often do so without enough time, support, or connection to others facing the same challenges. The EdFuture Summit creates that space. 

For two days, the people closest to this work come together to share what they’re learning, dig into what’s working and what’s not, and discuss strategies for the coming year.  

Now in its third year, the summit is guided by Mid-Pacific Institute’s AI Advisory Council, a group of leaders from education, technology, business, and community organizations including voices from Nvidia, Microsoft, and Bank of Hawaii. Council members don’t just present, they’re in the room with you, working through the same questions about how to leverage agents and augmented or automated workflows. Engage with technology leaders and current high school students on how they use and understand their evolving AI-centered world in this intimate and innovative two-day conversation. 

Day 1 brings together industry leaders, educators, and community partners to build a shared understanding of the current AI landscape, featuring real-world case studies from Bank of Hawaii and the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation, student presentations, and sessions on agentic AI.  

Day 2 focuses on the practical, ethical, and strategic questions educators are navigating, with sessions from K–12 schools and higher education institutions including UH, Chaminade, and HPU and what schools need to do to prepare students for the AI-infused workplace.
